Sustainability

Built to last.

At Mondsee, sustainability isn't a section we added to feel better about ourselves — it's the logic behind every material choice we make.

The most sustainable piece is one you never throw away

Gold-plated jewelry tarnishes within weeks or months. You replace it. That replacement ends up in a landfill too. The cycle repeats.

18k gold-fill is different. A mechanically-bonded layer of solid gold — at least 5% of the piece's total weight — means the gold doesn't flake or fade with normal daily wear. Worn properly, a gold-fill piece will look the same in five years as it did the day you got it.

That's not a warranty talking point. That's why we chose the material.

Hypoallergenic by design

Every Mondsee piece is crafted to be safe for sensitive skin. We build without nickel and other common irritants, so our jewelry is something you can actually wear every day — which means it gets used, not forgotten in a drawer.

A piece that lives on your body is a piece that never needs to be replaced.

Small batches, not mass production

We don't drop 40 new SKUs a month. We stock what we believe in, in quantities we can stand behind. That means less overproduction, less surplus, and less waste from unsold inventory.

Our pieces are crafted in Brazil and sourced through suppliers we've vetted for material quality. We're always looking for ways to improve the supply chain — and we'll be honest when we're still figuring things out.

Packaging we're working on

We're not going to claim our packaging is perfect — we're actively working to reduce it. Every order comes in a reusable jewelry pouch designed to become the piece's permanent storage.

Our long-term goal is fully recyclable outer packaging. We'll update this page when we get there.

"The most eco-friendly thing you can do is love what you already have."
